Cuba firmly supports Venezuela’s sovereignty

Cuba maintains a position of firm support for Venezuela and its president Nicolás Maduro. Cuba insists on the importance of the unity of Latin America in the face of the attacks to which it is subjected, said the President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel

“We stand in solidarity without a single doubt with the brother Venezuelan people and with our colleague Nicolás Maduro,” the president emphasized when denouncing actions aimed at ignoring the results of the elections of July 28, in which Maduro was the winner.

In his speech at the 11th Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), Díaz-Canel denounced that Venezuela faces a discredit campaign that seeks to mask another coup attempt.

“We will not remain on the sidelines or in silence in the face of the outrages and open interference of the empire, its coryphées or those who prefer not to challenge the imperial line of action,” said the Cuban president, who also noted that these “are times of unity and firmness against imperialism and the oligarchies that take advantage of the slightest opportunity to attack the triumph and stability of any force directed towards the people.”

The president stressed that in Venezuela a conflict is being settled between two visions of the world clearly in conflict: on the one hand, social justice and on the other hand, the interest to preserve the system of injustice and dominance prevails.

“It is not possible to remain indifferent to the calculated articulation of regional oligarchies, imperialism, communications emporiums and digital platforms against Venezuela,” Díaz Canel said.

In his speech, the president praised the serenity, the high democratic sense and vocation for peace expressed by Maduro and his team when responding to the provocations.
