Cuban health workers celebrate their day today

In all labor collectives of Public Health of Cuba workers develop different activities today on the occasion of the Day of Latin American Medicine and the 182 anniversary of the birth of the eminent Cuban scientist Carlos J. Finlay.
 
The day of recognition of that union which groups almost 500 thousand members began on November 7 in Holguin and aims to highlight the selfless work of employees of the National Health System, who work both in Cuba and in medical missions other countries, said Dr. Santiago Badías, secretary general of the union.
 
The plan of action for the date, which will run until Jan. also includes special to stand out in an exemplary manner in their labor collectives tribute.
 
Organized by the Union of Health Workers and the corresponding ministry in the first stage, the November 7 to December 3 provides for the recognition of those who work in areas of difficult access, special services of greater complexity, the internationalists and those with more than 20 years in the sector.
 
Badías explained that is expected in the second stage, from 4 to 22 December to honor educators and 23 of that month the first of January, allegorical to the 57 anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution.
 
The actions by the Labor Day Health to members of the International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics, Henry Reeve, who participated in the fight against Ebola in West Africa are also recognized.
 
Wednesday, on the eve of the celebration, health professionals Havana who fought against the pandemic on African soil, received the award Labor feat in the provincial act by the provincial act for the Day of Latin American Medicine.
 
On Thursday the central act for the anniversary will take place in the Havana National Rehabilitation Hospital "Julio Díaz", which provides specialized medical care and shows remarkable results.
