Cuban Medical Brigade Takes Care of More Than 7,000 Peruvians

The Cuban medical brigade, which is carrying out its solidarity work in this northern city of Peru and its vicinities, affected by floods, is taking care of more than seven thousand Peruvians.
 
The head of the brigade, Rolando Piloto, informed Prensa Latina that, counting the 223 patients of yesterday, the total of victims amounted to 7,161, who in the majority were without houses after the great floods.
 
Cuban doctors work in Reátegui and Cayetano Heredia hospitals in the city of Piura, where they focus on cases of dengue fever and suspected cases of fever.
 
Also in the field hospital, installed by the Ministry of Health, doctors and nurses work 24 hours a day by shifts.
 
Cuban specialists travel daily to Camp 980, outside the city, the largest of the shelters where thousands of victims are housed.
 
The group of the Caribbean island, consisting of 23 health professionals with an epidemiological profile that are part of the Henry Reeve International brigade specialized in disasters, arrived in Piura on March 31.
